Family Law Services
Vanguard West Legal offers services in family law, including divorce, legal separation, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, legal decision-making and parenting time and modifications thereto, establishment and/or modification of child support or spousal support, and orders of protection.
Civil Law Services
Vanguard West Legal offers civil law services for matters which can remain within the jurisdiction of county justice court(s) or municipal court(s). At the current time, this means civil matters in which the controversy in question does not exceed $10,000, exclusive of fees and costs. Such matters include landlord-tenant disputes, neighbor disputes, contract disputes, personal injury matters, small claims matters, and civil traffic citations.

Why Hire a Legal Paraprofessional?
Let's face it, legal representation is expensive. Prohibitively so, in many cases. A lawyer may charge anywhere from $300 to $700 per hour, depending on the type of case and the market in which the lawyer is working. When a person cannot afford this type of hourly rate, access to justice becomes restricted, if not outright unavailable.
To address this disparity, the Arizona Supreme Court established another tier of legal service providers called Legal Paraprofessionals, or LPs. LPs are authorized by the Supreme Court and the Arizona Bar Association to provide limited-scope legal services, at a lower cost to the client, in vital areas of law. This includes evaluating legal matters and claims, advising clients, and representing clients in court without the supervision of an attorney. This saves clients hundreds or thousands of dollars and opens up the realm of legal representation to a wider cross-section of the population.
When you hire an LP, you can rest assured that you are obtaining competent, qualified, and quality legal representation at a lower cost than you would pay for an attorney for the same services. Much the same way a nurse practitioner can perform many of the duties of a physician in the medical profession, an LP can guide you, advise you, and represent you through your legal situation.
Vanguard West Legal Services offers LP services in the areas of Family Law and Limited Jurisdiction Civil Law. Counties serviced include Pima, Pinal, Cochise, Santa Cruz, Graham, and Greenlee. We do not charge a consultation fee for consultations local to Tucson. If it is necessary to travel to another county for a consultation, the consultation fee is $150. Weekend consultations are also available; a weekend consultation will incur a $150 fee, regardless of location.
